So, just stay connected with this interesting till the end. You won’t regret staying till the end. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s get started with this article.
Raidbots is a platform made by Seriallos that lets players to run character simulations online, to analyze and compare performance, talents, gear, encounter styles, and more. Moreover, you can compare different gear combinations and see which one makes you a bit more awesome. It’s much closer to accurate, even if there might be a few bugs here and there. There’s a feature where you can set a fixed setting, like fighting certain bosses, and see how different buffs or abilities play out.
In easy words, it is like a try-before-you-buy for your WoW character’s gear and talents
Ease of Use Raidbots Wotlk
SimC: Generally, more complex. It’s like trying to play a game in its initial settings.
Raidbots: More spontaneous with different options to customize your sims. It’s like playing with simple mode and a guide on the side.
Running Sims
SimC: You run it on your computer. Depending on your device, this could be similar to trying to raid in the world of lag.
Raidbots: Uses powerful servers, so it’s fast and doesn’t bog down your computer. It’s the high-speed internet of sims.
Data Input
SimC: You have to yourself input data or use an add-on to get a string of your character’s stats, gear, talents, etc.
Raidbots: Still need data from your character, although it’s optimized to make the process smoother, and you get to play around with the features more.
Output of Raidbots
SimC: Gives you complete stats about your character’s potential damage, rotation, etc. It’s like reading a game guide.
Raidbots: While you still get stats, it also supports you in optimizing what gear, talents, or rotation is best. It’s the cheat sheet for your game guide.
Features & Options Raidbots
SimC: it has a lot of features, but you might want a degree in WoW comics to understand them all.
Raidbots: Offers features in a more consumable format. Plus, it’s got some extras like comparing gear or seeing how you’d do in different raid scenarios.
To be honest, it is complicated! But in general, it is good for most purposes, especially for DPS specs. Furthermore, Raidbots is running SimC so check with your class Discord/forums/etc to see if your community is successfully using SimC to answer common questions (stat weights, gear/trinket/legendary choices). Moreover, SimC has an amazing community of developers who are constantly working on improving and updating SimC. It has a solid foundation for simulating WoW combat so it’s pretty good at answering questions like “Which stat will provide the most DPS gain given a fight style” or “Which piece of gear/legendary/trinket/etc will improve my DPS the most”
By default, Raidbots uses a custom “weekly” build that is accumulated from the latest changes on Monday nights (built at about 10:45 pm EST, there are notifications in the Raidbots Discord if you want to know when new builds are available).
In the “Advanced Options” on any page, you can select to use a Nightly version (built every night at about 10:45 pm EST) or the Weekly version.
The basic breakdown of the versions:
Nightly: contains the latest changes, could differ from day to day, slightly higher chance of running into new bugs.
Weekly: same code for a full raid lockout, tends to be somewhat more stable as I’ll rebuild it if there are serious bugs found or if there are important changes that pop up mid-week.
Player Skill — it uses the default value of “Elite” which should be used in just about every case. Changing this is not particularly well maintained in SimC so just don’t touch it.
World Lag — Default value is “Medium — 100ms”. This is an additional one that you probably shouldn’t change. Spell queueing in the WoW client handles latency efficiently in nearly all scenarios.
Dual-check all the fight preferences (style, length, vary, number of bosses, etc). Raidbots uses 20% differ by default right now so this could somewhat change things.
In our opinion, tuning with Raidbots allows you to pinpoint the best gear upgrades lurking in your bags. It provides a correct feature set to simulate different bosses and scenarios. Additionally, Raidbots offers a more widespread example of your potential performance compared to just smacking a target dummy. Using stat weights from Raidbots make sure you’re optimized for your next in-game challenge. In short, while target dummies are good practice, Raidbots gives you a comprehensive playbook.
So, that’s all in today’s article. let’s wrap it up here only. Thank you for reading till the end. Moreover, share this article with your friends. Furthermore, you can also comment or write a review below on the same. See you in the next article. Till then, bye. Have a nice day.
